Maks blends physical storytelling with circus to create unique original acts.
He has trained in multiple disciplines, and has worked in NYC nightlife and variety theater for several years. He hopes to continue this song and dance run until he can neither sing nor dance. Then he'll probably take up painting or something.
Maks began his training in NYC before joining preprofessional programs.
He spent a year at Circus Maine, and two years at Circus Warehouse. Specializing in aerial arts and contortion, Maks worked concurrently in nightlife, cabarets, corporate and community events before the Covid 19 pandemic grounded us all.
While in quarantine, Maks and his roommates created “Nowhere | Now Here” - an ensemble based, devised show featuring acrobatics, aerial arts, dance, spoken word, and clowning. This show has grown ever since. See more of it here: https://www.hybridmovementcompany.com/nowhere
Since the end of quarantine, Maks has performed full time. He has taken a number of contracts in a variety of settings, including theatrical circus, immersive theater, variety shows/nightlife, and traditional circus. He enjoys mixing disciplines to create original storytelling acts in new and innovative ways. He is inspired by the likes of Kidd Pivot, Chile's La Llave Maestra, and the various works of the Chaplins/Thierrees.
